Vinyl Sustainability Forum 2015 - Highlights

PVC4Pipes was present at the Vinyl Sustainability Forum 2015 held on 30th April in Cannes, France.

The Vinyl Sustainability Forum 2015, the leading event of the vinyl chain, took place in France under the theme 'More Vinyl, Less Carbon'.  The event gathered over 100 representatives from academia, government bodies, the United Nations, the European Commission and all sectors of the vinyl industry.

The one-day forum focussed on exchanging views on how the PVC value chain is helping combat climate change by improving energy and resource efficiency and helping reduce CO2 emissions.

The morning session focused on 'Climate Protection, Circular Economy' with speakers from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the European Commission (DG Growth), followed by presentations on the VinylPlus Voluntary Commitment and its achievements.

The afternoon session focused on the 'Converters' Contribution to climate protection'.  Zoran Davidovski, Communication Chairman of PVC4Pipes, addressed the audience with a paper on "The contribution PVC pipes have on CO2 emissions and preventing climate change".

The event ended with an open discussion on 'Reducing the Footprint, Increasing the Handprint' with key stakeholders from industry, retailers, recyclers and NGOs.
